Save 80’s Earth In The Metal Dawn Board Game By Everything Epic
May 24, 2017 by deltagamegirl22
Everything Epic has been working away in the background on a really great cooperative board game that harnesses some of the best elements in tabletop games.
Metal Dawn is live on Kickstarter now and offers a thematic, retro 80's, Sci-Fi board game that drops players in the middle of a hostile alien robot take over.
Metal Dawn is a cooperative board game for two to four players that plays over sixty to ninety tense minutes. One giant alien robot, the Dominus, has set its eyes on Earth and taken over a tech factory and is cranking out hostile robots in an attempt to wipe out the human race.
Players will have only ten rounds to irradicate the robots and take out the Dominus to ensure their survival. The game has characters that you must equip with the best weapons to try to make this happen, all while managing the robot threat across the board.
Area control is key for this one, which is where the intensity comes across in the game.
I'll be honest, they had me at 80's theme and I love the area control aspect that can get out of control so quickly, like Pandemic, so I'm very curious about this one. I do wish we were looking at minis vs standees, but hey, it's a board game and
I'm looking forward to talking to Everything Epic at Gen Con this year.
What do you think of retro Sci-Fi theme with modern game mechanics in this one?

Seeing the name Metal Dawn I was expecting something like the Brutal Legend video game! Either that or our new news writing robot Mecha Dawn.
