Rio Grande Announce New Puerto Rico Deluxe Edition

Rio Grande Games has announced that they are bringing a new deluxe edition of the classic board game Puerto Rico to the tabletop later this year.

The above cover is for the original deluxe edition which landed a few years ago. The new version will be tweaked, refined and give you access to a whole bunch of different expansions which build on this game of city-building and economic action selection.

Included in this updated version of the game you'll find the base game, New Buildings expansion, Nobles expansion, a new cover and artwork across the game and accessories plus dual-sided building tiles with alternative artwork too.

I have a little bit of a love-hate relationship with Puerto Rico. I understand how good of a game it is, but it's one which very much has that "you should do this, it's the most optimal play" thing about it. There are so many times playing this game where I feel like I'm not helping myself and just making it easier for someone else. So, if you like having a bit of agency in your tabletop games maybe make sure you're prepared for what Puerto Rico brings to the table...maybe it's just my group?
