Restoration Prepare For Return To Dark Tower Kickstarter

Restoration Games are preparing for the return of another classic game on Kickstarter. Return To Dark Tower will be arriving 14th January 2020.
Here is what you need to know about this new take on a classic...
"A "sequel" to the 1981 grail game, Return to Dark Tower is a cooperative game for one-to-four players who take the role of heroes. Together, they gather resources, raise buildings, defeat monsters, and undertake quests to build up their strength and discern what foe ultimately awaits them. When the heroes face the tower, the game shifts into its dramatic second act, where the players have one chance to defeat the enemy once and for all.
The game features traditional game mechanisms, such as engine building and resource management, paired with a technological interface unlike any seen before in games, including the titular tower, which holds more than a few secrets."
The game will feature an electronic tower akin to the one that featured in the original game back in the day. From all we've heard on the grapevine about this game, it seems like this is a fascinating tabletop experience. Experienced names like Isaac Childres and Rob Daviau are behind its creation so it is certainly going to be worth taking a peek at.
If you're in the mood for a little bit of quirky nostalgia then check out the trailer for the old game below featuring Orsen Wells...
From all of the artwork we've seen, the designs featured for the board and of course the tower, this is looking like a lot of fun!
Did you play the original game?

Ooh, this looks cool! Anyone on here know how exactly the classic game worked? Based upon the name, I would like it if they included an add-on hero pack with a gunslinger, recovering heroin addict, black woman in a wheelchair, little kid, and racoon-dachsund-looking thing.
From Wikipedia To play, each player takes turns rotating the Tower to face them and then moving about the board. The quarter of the board in front of a particular player is their territory. Gameplay proceeds by moving a player’s token one space and then pressing a button on the Tower that corresponds to the type of space (e.g., Sanctuary, Tomb, Bazaar, Frontier). The Tower then resolves what happens to the player by showing the player the appropriate cel and reporting whatever occurs. For instance, if the Tower decides that the player has encountered Brigands, it will turn to the… Read more »
So it’s a little bit like a single-player RPG crossed with a wargame of sorts? This is actually pretty fascinating. I heard about the game after watching an episode of The Goldbergs and wasn’t entirely sure what it was.
I was reading that MB were fined $700,000 for stealing the idea from a game 2 people submitted to MB
this is the first time I’ve seen this game and the original looks good.
