Restoration Games Bringing 1973’s Conspiracy Back To Life!
January 15, 2019 by brennon
Conspiracy is a game that I didn't manage to play when I was younger, probably because it was out in 1973! Restoration Games are giving us another go at the game though now with plans to bring Eric Solomon's spy thriller back to the tabletop in Conspiracy: The Solomon Gambit.
In Conspiracy you take control of a shadowy agency, trying to pay off agents around the world to move a briefcase full of sensitive information to your home HQ. This bluffing/deduction/bidding game can become a web of intrigue as you try and outwit your opponents and stop agents in their tracks, undercutting your opposition as they try to put their plans into action.
Named The Solomon Gambit after the original creator, this new version of the game gives players different abilities which allow them to move the agents for free and an alternative win condition where you can stall out your opponents. If no-one wins by the game's end, then whoever has paid the most money to Dr Solomon will become the winner!
The balancing act is working out if you need to pay money to the shadowy Solomon or keep it to try and move the briefcase home, outbidding the other agents at the tabletop.
It sounds fascinating and whilst I want them to get going on Return To Dark Tower this is also capturing my attention.
Did you play the original game?

On his turn, a player can secretly pay any agent, or select and move any agent. If one of the rivals does not agree with the action, the… Read more »
