Red Raven Games and Ryan Laukat's Sleeping Gods board game is going to be seeing a retail release in April of this year. This "Atlas Game" tells a story of exploration and adventure for one-to-four players over a twenty-hour campaign.

Sleeping Gods - Red Raven Games

Sleeping Gods // Red Raven Games

In this open-world adventure, you will take control of the crew of The Manticore that was on its way to New York City. A terrible storm hit and when it passed, the ship found itself in a strange sea with unfamiliar stars in the heavens above.

Sleeping Gods Components - Red Raven Games

Sleeping Gods Components // Red Raven Games

Taking cues from their previous story-driven board game, Sleeping Gods challenges you and your friends to explore their Atlas and encounter over 400 unique cards and a storybook that is packed with literally 1000s of possible choices. You'll have to work together in your quest to find and awaken enough totems in order for the gods of this world to send you home.

Tides Of Ruin Expansion

If the core game just isn't enough, or you get to the end of it and want more, then you've also got Sleeping Gods: Tides Of Ruin which builds on this epic quest.

This expansion adds another atlas for you to explore, a new storybook plus additional adventure cards for you to encounter. You can very easily mix this in with the base game to make the world larger and of course, expand the scope of your campaign.

Maybe you'll be tempted by the sanctuary city of Zokmere or the sprawling ruins of an ancient city where the gods are said to be hiding? Whatever you decide to do, you're going to be getting stuck into a large and session-spanning campaign that is saturated with gorgeous artwork and top tier writing.

If you're tempted by the game, give Rodney Smith's How To Play video a go and let us know what you think.

How To Play Sleeping Gods // Watch It Played

As someone who has loved previous games by Ryan Laukat, I could see this being another decent hit. The game has already been received well in previews and should be delivering to Kickstarter backers too. It won't be long until those who missed out will be able to play as well.

Did you back this game?
