October 4, 2022 by brennon
Ian Livingstone's classic Judge Dredd board game is coming back to the tabletop thanks to the folks at Rebellion Unplugged. Judge Dredd: The Game Of Crime-Fighting In Mega-City One (big title) is available to pre-order now ahead of a release in November.
Ian Livingstone's Judge Dredd // Rebellion Unplugged
In this game, you will take on the role of the Judges that are policing the streets of Mega-City One. You will need to take down gangs and even more deadly lawbreakers to prove that you are worthy of the badge. This might involved tangling with the Angel Gang, Judge Death, Orlok The Assassin and many more as you work your way through the streets.

With amazing artwork from the likes of Ian Gibson and Brian Bolland, this is a very nice love letter to the Pulpy Sci-Fi world of Judge Dredd and its inhabitants. Plus, it's always nice to see a classic return to the tabletop.

The game is relaunching to mark the 40th anniversary of the classic but comes with updated cards, revised rules for faster play and all of the above-mentioned artwork has been recoloured to make it pop on the tabletop. You will also get access to Specialist Judges with an expansion this time around where you will be able to use their special abilities to change how you approach the game.
You could play as the Mechanismo Droid, a Psi Judge or the Chief Judge if you so desired. Whether you're taking on the role of a Cadet, a Special Judicial Squad or the Wally Squad, you will have your own unique set of skills that will mean you can take on the lawbreakers of Mega-City One.

The game will be dropping on 14th November 2022 so you don't have long to wait if you've been eager to get more Judge Dredd into your life.
Are you going to be snapping this up to relive a classic?

A board game with no minis…. I never thought that would make me happy
I have the original and it has little plastic mini judges. I wonder why they went for the card option
production, GW could make minis Rebellion prints stuff on paper and card. If they want miniatures they’ve got to go find a sculptor and manufacturer, as it stands it’s all in house
All dredd stuff always be cool, but… Where is my live action serie rebellion? Where? I am waiting for years from the first póster reveal
Mega I like the card coloured figures for games if you want 3D figures their is plenty of folks making judge type figures to grab up for the gaming with.
I had this as a kid and it is / was brilliant.
Going to be buying this one (to go with my copies of Block Mania and Mega Mania), I expect Gerry will have one up on the shelf behind him on camera also 😀
I remember reading about this game in an old back issue of White Dwarf. Don’t know much about how the game plays but I’m certainly going to be watching a battle report or two before I consider picking this one up.
As for miniatures I guess you could always pick up some from Warlord Games’s Judge Dredd line.
I would like to see a reprint of the original GW Dredd RPG.
