Ravensburger Announce Tabletop Minecraft
February 10, 2019 by cassn
Ravensburger have teased the release of a Minecraft board game arriving on the tabletop in 2019.
There's no word on mechanics and no hints at components yet, just a rough run time of 30-60 minutes for 2-4 players and a cryptic publisher press release:
The video game phenomenon Minecraft comes to your table as a board game experience filled with epic adventures! More info coming soon.
This could be completely wonderful and hit the hot list on every board game website but, honestly, I doubt it will. Ravensburger are a great publishing company and I'm prepared to eat my words if I'm wrong, but I've seen very few video games in my time make a smooth transition to the tabletop.
We'll keep you updated, and if it looks really bad, just wall Steve in Obsidian and wait for the end to come.
Which video to tabletop transition has impressed you?

Interesting to see how this turns out.
Isn’t tabletop Minecraft just Lego? ?
