We're gonna need a bigger post.

Yes, the best movie ever about the pitfalls of binge eating is coming to the tabletop! Jaws is a combination of hidden information and strategy battle in a board game. One player takes on the role of the fishy fiend, while three others act as our heroes Quint, Brody, and Hooper.

These one versus many mechanics are growing in popularity in board gaming recently, and they frequently pay off as a good gaming experience.

In the first round, players are trying to track the shark's location and tag him with two barrels before he eats too many swimmers (shark nutrition is a delicate balance). The more people the shark eats, the bigger he becomes for the next round. Me too, my toothy friend. Me too.

In the second round, the game moves to the Orca on the sea. The shark is given a set number of cards on locations to attack the boat. Shipmates must strategically plan where to defend and when to use their weapons.

If the boat is destroyed or all the players get chomped, then this underwater chonky boi succeeds. If, by chance, the team succeed in killing the shark, they win.

I'm always skeptical of IP games but, actually, I'm pretty excited about this release. The hidden information round is really what sets this game apart. Jaws will be released by Ravensburger in July 2019 - just in time for the beach!

Bonus Comic:

"Shark nutrition is a delicate balance!"
