Qulathis The Exile Stalks The Cursed City In Warhammer Quest
February 12, 2021 by avernos
After seeing some of the skeletal minions from Ulfenkarn last week Games Workshop have been showing off one of the heroes who will be attempting to clean up the streets of the cursed city. Qulathis the Exile.
Qulathis the Exile // Games Workshop
In the realm of Ghyran, there is a strange annexe called the Enga’la Weald, once known only to the Sylvaneth. Then the Soulblight came. Qulathis and her kin fought a savage guerrilla war against the vampire invaders, but they could not match the brute strength and the resilience of their undead foes.
Qulathis’ clan lost hope and withdrew, seeking to restart their lives elsewhere. Qulathis, however, refused to give up and vowed to bring true death to the vampires, even though her elders expressly forbade it. With her blade and her bow, she made her way to Ulfenkarn to seek her revenge.
Qulathis the Exile // Warhammer Quest
Armed with a quiver of arrows fashioned from the sacred Oak of Ages Past to aid her in slaying the undead that lurk within the cursed city, Qulathis will show be available for your games of Warhammer Quest: Cursed City. As far as the sculpt goes she is remarkably restrained, with her mixture of furs, scale and leather she would be more at home treading the forest floor but I'm sure they will serve to hide and protect her equally well in Ulfenkarn. Once again the floor is lava I blame Lord of the Rings for that Lego Legolas surfing and firing nonsense started things like this but overall it's an interesting sculpt that wouldn't be out of place in many fantasy games. I'll be interested in seeing who is up next for the heroes as they further explore the city.
What do you think of the Exile?
Just stunning. Am so excited for this version of Warhammer Quest
That is one really good looking miniature.
I don’t know what is meant by the floor is lava. It doesn’t look like lava to me, it just looks like generic mud
Because the pose implies the last thing she wants to do is touch the ground.
As stated this is very restrained considering this is set in the AoS realm. I’d cut the horns of her head to make getting through doorways in a city less of a pain in the bum but otherwise that’s it. If they continue with this quality chances are I’ll pick it.
Deer god, as a peer already stated, the antlers are… unoptimal for fighting (least for crossing doors)
In dire need of a head swap.
“With her blade and her bow, she made her way to Ulfenkarn to seek her revenge. Unfortunately, she got her antlers stuck in a doorway and was eaten by vampires in her first week…”
I think that’s a pretty cool sculpt, but according to the Warhammer community website, she’s a “Rebel Kurnothi.” But up until now the only Kurnothi we’ve seen are the ones in Beastgrave, and they’re all Satyrs and Centaurs and the like. So, what’s this one doing with human-shaped legs? So, does anyone know any of the lore related to the Kurnothi? What are the chances that they ever define this faction more than just putting antlers on the occasional elf? So, I guess I’d say that I’m kinda disappointed that it is a fairly restrained design. I mean, it’s AoS… Read more »
Nice.
GW: Here’s a new release for the Lumineth range for AoS! They take the old High Elf design, but ramp it up with high fantasy to be even more eye-catching and unique. Fanbase: It’s too busy, overdone, and stupid-looking. I don’t like it. GW: …Okay, here’s a new elven hero for the Cursed City, in the style of the old Wood Elves. Her design is closer to the old world, with just a bit of high fantasy to set her apart. Fanbase: It’s too restrained and boring, and doesn’t fit in with AoS. I don’t like it. GW: WHAT DO… Read more »
I think that just comes down to asking 100,000 people how they feel about something, and being surprised they don’t all feel the same way. And also that artistic success doesn’t come down to doing something new or doing something old, that’s probably borderline irrelevant to people’s subconscious minds as they analyze a model and decide if they like the look or not.
Great mini!
Let’s just hope the lava floor isn’t there for all the heroes though 😉
This whole project feels inspired.
I love this mini, WH Quest looks better and better with each reveal, but how on earth do you pronounce this name?!?
Koo-LATH-iss…I think. It’s hard to tell with bloody elves.
Another fantastic fantasy model from GW, taken straight from Warhammer Fantasy proving yet again the best AoS stuff is just Fantasy stuff…
