Some background on the lore behind the game...
"The Midnight Queen is dead… As her kingdom weeps, the Queen’s dying command was to invoke the Rule By Midnight: a trial of combat and guile, where the Princesses of the Twelve Lands meet in secret to battle and scheme against one another. At the stroke of midnight, the most powerful Princess left standing will be crowned the new Midnight Queen!"
At its core Queen By Midnight is a battle-royale deck-building card game. You can choose from six different Princesses who each have their own unique tactics which can be used to battle for the command of the Midnight Court.

At the centre of your tabletop is the Clock Dice Tower which isn't just there to look pretty. It tracks turns, gives you cards that you can buy and is a nice place to roll your dice. There are around 200 cards that are focused on your Princess alone and then you also have the additional seventy-five Bazaar cards which can be used to give you more customisation options.
Your big player board which features a bunch of trackers is also there to aid with the flow of gameplay. Queen By Midnight looks particularly gorgeous but the proof will be in gameplay.
Uk'otoa was the first game from Darrington Press and it was a solid "ok". Till The Last Gasp had a little more to it and I liked that it was just a big ol' improv game but I don't think it has a broad appeal. Queen By Midnight could be the one that lands well with a bunch of folks.
Are you going to be keeping an eye on Queen By Midnight?
