Paladins of the West Kingdom is set at a turbulent time of West Francia's story, circa 900 AD. Despite recent efforts to develop the city, outlying townships are still under threat from outsiders. Saracens scout the borders, while Vikings plunder wealth and livestock. Even the Byzantines from the east have shown their darker side. As noble men and women, players must gather workers from the city to defend against enemies, build fortifications and spread faith throughout the land. Fortunately you are not alone. In his great wisdom, the King has sent his finest knights to help aid in our efforts. So ready the horses and sharpen the swords. The Paladins are approaching.

Paladins of the West Kingdom is the second standalone game in the West Kingdom trilogy. Designers Shem Phillips and SJ MacDonald (Architects of the West Kingdom) are back, and have brought knights with them!

Paladins of the West Kingdom is a worker drafting/placement game in which players can gain victory points by building outposts and fortifications while increasing your strength, influence, and faith throughout the game.

In each round, players will draft six workers, two from your chosen Paladin and the other four from a central selection available to all players. There's also a lot of combo building and rewards, so a player may end up using double the amount of workers they originally drafted, leading to greater opportunities to strategically gather points. The player with the most victory points at the end of the seventh round is declared the winner!

Paladins of the West Kingdom will hopefully be coming to Kickstarter in March, but until then you can keep up to date through the Renegade Game Studios website.

Have you played Architects of the West Kingdom yet?
