Pre-Order Mantic’s League Of Infamy & Play As The Villains
May 12, 2021 by brennon
League Of Infamy, the Fantasy dungeon delver with a devious side, is now available to pre-order from Mantic Games. Forget playing as the heroes and instead take on the role of the villains as they sneak, stab and scheme their way across the tabletop.
League Of Infamy // Mantic Games
League Of Infamy is a cooperative dungeon crawler for five players but you'll end up committing some dastardly deeds along the way, sometimes against your own party members. You might have to work together but that doesn't mean you have to enjoy it!
League Of Infamy Gameplay // Mantic Games
In the base game of League Of Infamy, you'll be playing as a band of rogues who have been tasked with infiltrating an Elven citadel in search of baby Drakons to steal. The Elves don't take too kindly to this however and so you'll find yourself having to show them the pointy end of your dagger too.
How To Play League Of Infamy
If the game already sounds good to you then check out the video above from T&G Productions as they walk you through how exactly the game works with the designers, Needy Cat Games.
Contents-wise, you're going to find a rulebook with all of the scenarios and campaign rules, six Villains to choose from, a big plastic Drakon, twenty-eight plastic Elves and Drakon defenders, gaming tiles and tokens, custom dice and all of the cards you'll need.
League Of Infamy Miniatures // Mantic Games
The twist on the traditional dungeon-delving formula here is great to see and I reckon this could be a nice alternative for those who enjoy the Kings Of War universe. As well as being a fun board game to dive into, it might also give you what you need for a new Elf army in Vanguard or Kings Of War. Maybe the villains could be used as your next roleplaying characters in their RPG too?
Pre-orders are available now with shipping for League Of Infamy beginning at the end of May.
Are you tempted to snap this up and be a bad guy?

It’s not anti-hero your a independent financial services collector.
It’s not full co-op, it’s semi-co-op, which has turned some folks off of the game (especially in the current gaming climate where so much is solo/pure co-op.) Kinda hoping some of the models get ported over to KOW:Vanguard at some point.
I suspect you could ignore the ‘semi’ part and play full coop instead. All you have to do is not backstab each other.
I almost backed this, but got the feeling I liked the villain minis more than the gameplay.
Maybe they will release them at some point as you suggested.
Interesting to see the pricing. The kickstarter deal was £75 too, same as the RRP, although of course you got an extra expansion (Wandering Monsters). However, the odds of getting an online discount somewhere on that £75 at retail are pretty reasonable, and I expect Mantic may deep discount remainder stock at some point in a future sale. At the time of launch of the project I was reasonably interested in the concept and the models… BUT… I didn’t really want to spend £75 up front on something that wasn’t going to deliver for over a year, and like so… Read more »
