Let’s Play: Star Saga – Mission One

Today Justin is joined by Rob from Mantic Games to play through the first mission of their new Sci-Fi dungeon crawler board game Star Saga.
Anyone familiar with Mantic's previous dungeon crawler Dungeon Saga will be immediately at home with the game system used here. This is a co-operative game where one player will act as the Game Master, controlling the enemies and events in the environment, while the others play a team of mercenaries working together to complete different objectives throughout a continuous story.
There is also included an "AI" system so that if you are playing alone or decide you'd rather be one of the good guys you can play against the game without a person in the game master role.
As you will see the movement and combat are quick and easy to work out letting you get straight into the action.
Star Saga is available for pre-order now and is due for release on the 30th of November.

Couldn’t back the KS at the time but I see it’s under 60 quid to preorder..
I rather like the minis actually and if they are of the same quality as the TWD figures that’s a steal..
I missed the KS but got in on the pledge manager, mainly beacuse i wanted a big box full of good stuff like we got with TWD.
I had a nosey at the copy in the studio two weeks ago, they were still in the bags and Az wouldn’t let me rip them open with my teeth. But the sculpt quality was very good, I would say they’re comparable to TWD.
As I prefer minis with realistic proportions, I find these even better than the TWD ones. Many of the sets have warped minis due to the heat during shipping, but it’s easy to remedy them with some hot water.
It looks really nice and a lot smoother than dungeon Saga. Can’t wait to get mine. Cheers lads ……… and how can that nice respectable Rob be Crazy Bobbie?? …. It is a better transformation than Clark Kent/Superman

the only mantic KS I missed until now – and I am mad at myself for missing it!! Well, it is the first buy on the list for next month, so … 🙂

What have they done with the paint on those models? Seems quite easy but effective for a board game.

Will BoW being doing a Let’s Play using the games AI?
The game looks great, and the component quality seems much higher than I was expecting. Glad there is a solo / full co-up set of rules too! If only I could get over my dislike of the tiles I would pre-order this thing in an instant!
