Let’s Play: Mythic Battles – The Hot Gates
December 4, 2017 by dignity
Today we're playing Mythic Battles: Pantheon with Leo from Mythic Games using the Thermopylae battlefield to recreate the famous Battle at the Hot Gates where the brave 300 Spartans faced off against the Persian hordes.
Except this isn't a historical game; in Mythic Battles we also have the god Ares fighting with Leonidas against the waves of unrelenting armies of the undead, straight from Hades.
How would you have overcome the imposing corpse wall?

Bloody marvellous! I have part of my Typhon pledge now but not the Core box so this scenario will be high on the ‘To Do’ list.
Me too ( titan plus a couple of extra’s ) 😀 . I was very excited to get the titans, expansions and the DSB, so i at least have some lovely mini’s to look at as i wait quietly for the core and all the other boxes of stunning mini’s to arrive.
It’s nice to get some more time with Leo! This is a Good Place!
Great game, really looking forward to this turning up. I did think Leo was going to say Leonidas was in a good place at one point!!!
How come a unit get a range bonus when shooting to and from elevated terrain? Hope this is an error and not the actual rule?
“the famous Battle at the Hot Gates where the brave 300 Spartans faced off against the Greek hordes.”
You mean 300 Spartans (plus several thousand other Greeks) faced off against the Persian army 😉
Was this game only available to acquire during the Kickstarter and it’s not coming to retail? Apologies if this has been answered many times before 🙂
GZ
Its coming to retail eventually
Current word is it’s not.
Leo is a naughty boy!!!
Still have not received my pledge but this is great to watch anyway.
… and how do biting dogs get an extended range from atop a cliff?
This has warmed me up nicely to receive my pledge (hopefully soon, can’t wait!) and great to see more Pantheon on BoW. Hope there are more let’s plays in the pipeline, never get tired of watching Leo and Justin fight it out.
Very mean to play a game some of us are still waiting for guys.
Oh the agony of waiting for my pledge to arrive. I am really hoping stuff is not shipped out in any kind of alphabetical order – stupid ‘W’ surname, living in Worcester!
Would love to play. But still waiting for the pledge to get here too.
I missed the boat on this Kickstarter!
Still waiting…sniff…snifff.
