Let’s Play: Highlander – The Board Game
January 11, 2018 by dignity
Alessio Cavatore and Jack Caesar from River Horse Games are here to show us how to play the upcoming Highlander The Board Game.
Based on the classic Christopher Lambert movie of the 1980's, the game will have you equipping swords, finding allies, and duelling familiar immortals. Fans of the movie will recognise Juan Sanchez Villa-Lobos Ramirez, The Kurgan, and Connor MacLeod himself, who will all be fighting until there is only one!
Each immortal has been brought to life in detailed miniature form and along with the familiar locations and items, you will be able to relive your favourite moments from the movie.
If this has piqued your interest be sure to check out the kickstarter launching 12th of January 2018.

There can only be one – First..!!!
I am about to watch this, but let’s face it I am already sold at this point.
RIVETING : (
I’m not getting a good vibe from this demonstration. The IP is great, but everything that I’ve seen is ….. meh. My criticisms; 1. Can someone explain why this is a boardgame? I would say a card game is more appropriate. 2. The miniatures, although nicely detailed are woefully underused. No point having them, apart from shiny syndrome. 3. The ‘board’ is uninspiring; there needs to be more diversity between the card decks. 4. Can the decks be themed to include world events, conflicts, etc? If this Is included already, then this needs to be demonstrated better. 5. Can you… Read more »
Game started slow, a lot of players waiting for there turn, but if your drawing 5 or more cards, it will take time to read them for the best. But it soon picked up and the finial battle was a corker…..
With a quick search found that there are already card game so they couldn’t use that.
Calling it a board game is definitely a stretch for me. Also a second card game last year on Kickstarter which had a couple of minis and a small card layout a little larger than this one.
Not sure how these previous 2 and this one compare though.
Thought it might be tough to do such an iconic film justice and wish the guys luck with this one but it’s not for me.
Jack has hair, well, there can be only one I guess.
This one’s not for me. Not a fan of player elimination in a game more than 20 to 30 minutes long, especially since it seems you can die on the first turn. Plus there’s way too much luck involved for my taste. It’s a good thing for me i suppose since i want to cut back on the number of KS i back.
Excellent! Alessio, count on me, I’ll do the KS!
Lot of fun with all players, lot of laughs, and it’s look like the movie!
Alessio’s Kurgan quotes are on point. He’s cleared watched the movie recently!
Kickstarter is live. Price point is really good for this.
