Plaid Hat Preview New Crossroads Game, Forgotten Waters
February 6, 2020 by brennon
Plaid Hat Games has previewed a new game for the Crossroads series (no, not the TV show). This time around we're getting whimsical with wild with Forgotten Waters which takes us to a land of fantasy pirate adventure.
There isn't much to go on right now bar a little bit of blurb from the publishers...
"Forgotten Waters is a Crossroads Game set in a world of fantastical pirate adventure. In it, players take on the role of pirates sailing together on a ship, attempting to further their own personal stories as well as a common goal. The world of Forgotten Waters is silly and magical, with stories designed to encourage players to explore and laugh in delight as they interact with the world around them. It’s a game where every choice can leave a lasting impact on the story, and players will want turn over every rock, just to see what they find."
As with previous Crossroads games in the series like Dead Of Winter and Gen7 you'll be playing through a game where you are working together but also aiming to fulfil your own personal goals too. The twist comes with those Crossroads cards which will offer up situations where your decisions will have an impact at that moment and potentially throughout future encounters.
This take on the mechanic seems to be a bit more friendly than past outings however which might make this an option for younger players. We won't be seeing the game until later this year in August so there is still plenty of time to find out more and delve into what it's all about.
As someone once said, "everything is better with pirate"...

I can’t find any reference to ‘Benny’ in the gameplay. Is this game really about a Midland’s motel?
Sounds good.
