Phalanx To Reprint Anhk Morpork As Nanty Narking In 2019
March 28, 2018 by brennon
Reimplementing the mechanics and gameplay of Discworld: Anhk Morpork, Phalanx Games is going to be bringing it back to the tabletop as Nanty Narking, replacing the cards and such with characters and locations from Victoria London.
The game will feature much of what was lovable about the original game but instead, change things up to give you the vibe of Victorian London. And, it comes with some stunning looking miniatures as board game components too.
Anhk Morpork had you playing as mysterious and famous faces from the Discworld background, each plotting to take over control of the city and fulfil your secret objectives. The new game is going to do something similar with the concept but open up the array of different player goals to vary up the games that you sit down to play.
You'll find this going to Kickstarter sometime next year.
What do you think of the reskin and tweaking?

Should be a fun game set in diskworld world.
No, I think you missed it. Anhk Morpork was a game from a couple of years ago (a very good one). They want to make their own intellectual property, so they’re re-making the game with a generic Victorian theme.
How much was Anhk Morpork reliant on its theme? Do you think that it would be just as good with a reskin?
As long as it’s not a direct copy of the pevious game only in a different setting…
Heck, even that might be o.k. Just a bit sad, it’s moved away from the Discworld setting.
Ankh-Morpork is one of my favourite casual board games, both as a gamer and a Discworld fanatic. I was sad when it fell out of print, but it is good to see the game returning in this new form.
The great thing about Ankh-Morpork as a setting is that it draws so much from real-world cities, so I believe the mechanics of the game should slot in well to this new look. I hope they will take the opportunity to tweak a few things as well.
