Build The Perfect Lunar Base In Sinister Fish Games’ Moon
July 22, 2022 by brennon
Following on from their hit games, Villagers and Streets, Sinister Fish Games are now heading into outerspace and creating lunar bases in Moon. Create the best place for humans to live and work up there to win with their new board game.
Moon // Sinister Fish Games
Moon is a pick and pass or hand drafting game where you will be selecting a series of new structure cards to add to your lunar base. Over the course of the game, you'll build up a prestigious base and the one that impresses the people of Earth the most will become the new lunar capital.

The hand of cards you're using represents experts and equipment that is being used to craft something fascinating each turn. There are also special Expedition cards that will offer up free actions each turn before being passed on to the next player.

As well the cards, you'll also have lunar rover tokens which add a worker placement element to the game as you use them to scoot around as a "neutral resource" in your games. Over three different eras, players will compete in five different categories. Housing, transportation, science, industry and food production. If you get to the top during each era you will win some bonus victory points.
There are also additional ways to secure victory points in the form of Reputation Cards. These change from game to game and offer up a nice bit of variety to your continued playthroughs of Moon. If you want to know more, check out the Rulebook and learn about the solo mode too!
Moon is currently available to back on Kickstarter and comes with both a retail edition and a deluxe one which comes with more fancy gubbins.

You can also get your hands on the free Valkyrie Expansion which will also be available at retail if you prefer. Valkyrie introduces a new wooden token and cards that can be used to represent trips back to Earth to pick up new technology which can be used to enhance your lunar bases.
Make sure to check out the Kickstarter for stretch goals, add-ons and more as is the norm with Kickstarters!

Could be fun if it’s like the moon in the Ad Astra film?
