Pegasus Spiele Take Us On A Cooperative Talisman Adventure
July 27, 2018 by brennon
Pegasus Spiele is working on a new standalone game set within the world of Talisman by Games Workshop. Talisman: Legendary Tales has you playing cooperatively to find the talisman and prevent the destruction of the world.
Here is the skinny on the new game and what you have to look out for...
"Players must prevent evil forces from obtaining a magical artefact of immense power - the Crown of Command. The Crown is hidden behind the Portal of Power. Only a legendary Talisman allows its bearer to pass the Portal. Over the years five of the Talismans disappeared. Forces of evil now seek to find them to take possession of the Crown of Command.
Brave heroes have to find the Talismans to prevent evil from ruling the world. For this dwarves, elves, trolls, warriors, prophets and wizards must work together by using their unique abilities. Legendary Tales features a bag-building mechanism to represent the heroes' development and offers five connected and replayable adventures."
The game sounds awesome and I love that it provides a twist on the Talisman format by making it fully cooperative. It should work as a fun game for families and a good bunch of friends to get stuck into.
I like the idea of the bag building mechanic as well which should encourage some planning and decision making between the team as they decide where they are going to explore. The linked adventures also help form a cool story and it would be fun to go back through them multiple times to see how they play out differently.
What do you think?

For me cooperative games are always worth a glance. I never liked the original Talisman that much. While some players are lucky, it’s hard for others to catch up or get killed and have to start anew. I guess this will not happen in this version. But is this still Talisman? As I see it, they use the brand for a different kind of game. Ok, fair enough! I will certainly give it a try.
Still got the basic Talisman story behind it but an entirely new game with new mechanics. I think it’s kinda what Talisman should have evolved into anyway heh.
I quite like Talisman though as a simple roll n’ move game to have some drinks and food with and really not care too much. It’s just a bit of fun.
It surely deserves its place in the “Hall of Fames” of games. Despite its flaws (IMHO!) it was a rolemodel for many later games. Not forget about the time with the boys…
I was thinking the same thing. I only played the old Talisman- but when they say “the world of Talisman” I can’t help but think they mean “The Old World of Warhammer- with crossover to 40k because that’s how they did things back then.”
Now, I think that Talisman is kind of an old piece of game design, so something new and cooperative could be plenty cool.
A classic story kill the evil warlock/entity.
