The Palaces Of Carrara Heads To Gamefound For Deluxe Edition
December 7, 2021 by fcostin
The 2012 tile-laying, city-building board game is heading back to the tabletop in 2022 with a brand new edition. The Palaces of Carrara Second Edition from Game Brewer is now on Gamefound, with new rules and improvements for more strategic and tactical players.

Players will head into Tuscany, Italy in attempts to construct buildings with as little cash as they can afford to give away. They will have a blank landscape to assemble stunning marble buildings in the aesthetically stunningly renaissance period.
The new edition has had a bit of a rehash of the rules, revising previous styles of play and widening and expanding gameplay. The new Advanced mode will place statues into play, adding new scoring mechanics for more tactical play and diversity.
Not only is the new release going to be a new edition, but Game Brewer will also be releasing this product as a Deluxe version of the game.

If you are anything like me and enjoy a bit of organisation to your board games, if you back on Gamefound, you will receive an exclusive tray insert with storage boxes. Plus some upgraded resource tokens too.
As part of the stretch goals, there will be a lot of upgraded components in the box, including upgrades to player boards and tiles, a drawstring bag and many more.
The Gamefound campaign went live today and has almost been funded, still with 29 days left on the clock. I would be surprised if it is not funded by the time you have seen this article!
So if you are looking to revisit a classic board game with a new modernised update - be sure to check out the campaign on Gamefound. If you want to hold your horses on the game, don’t you worry, it will be expected to be in retail by October 2022.
Fancy creating a landscape in Tuscany?

looks interesting.
I own the original and it is an excellent game. The principal game mechanic is the rondel, with players choosing which types of marble (coloured cubes) to purchase. You use these to build and then core different types of buildings in six cities. Glad to see it coming back in to print.
