General Orders has been designed as a worker-placement wargame which comes from the creators behind the impressive Undaunted series. So, they have plenty of pedigree! You will take on the role of competing commanders who are diving into a tug of war across the battlefields of World War II.

You'll be fighting to secure assets and objectives on the tabletop that will unlock special abilities which can be used to give you the edge. Your opponent will be trying to do the same and so you'll be drawn into the push and pull of focusing on different areas of the game board.

You'll be building up supply lines, fighting off air assaults and artillery barrages and also protecting your headquarters. What's nice about this game is that it's a wargame that can be played out in around forty minutes according to Osprey.

Just as with Undaunted, it's neat that we're seeing Thompson and Benjamin working to shake up the "wargame" and give you some fun options when it comes to hitting the tabletop.

Could you be tempted by General Orders: World War II?
