Games Workshop has revealed that some classic Warhammer Underworlds warbands are going to be returning with Rivals decks for use in this mixture of both board and card game.

It looks like these warbands are going to be returning as one big pack. Maybe this is something that you'd prefer to split with some friends who are also into Warhammer Underworlds. Called Rivals Of The Mirrored City, this "expansion" comes with updated rules and new Rivals decks for each of the warbands allowing them to join in the skirmishes on the tabletop alongside a host of the newer warbands without too much tinkering.

The Rivals format is a great way to play Warhammer Underworlds and introduce people to the game. Without any deck building required, you simply rock up with a Rivals deck of cards and just start playing. It removes one of the barriers to exploring the game and means that everyone in the tournament should be on an even footing in terms of the tools at their disposal.
As well as the Thorns Of The Briar Queen and Mollog's Mob, we also have the returning Zarbag's Gitz who are another fun addition to the Warhammer Underworlds collection.

It's one of the great things about Warhammer Underworlds as a range. All of the warbands are packed with unique miniatures that capture the feel of a faction in Warhammer Age Of Sigmar. You don't need to paint them either (as they originally came in coloured plastic) but they should all be fun painting projects that might get you excited about the idea of painting a larger collection of these miniatures.
Last but not least, we have Spiteclaw's Swarm which was the initial Skaven warband for Warhammer Underworlds. I know a lot of people who picked up this set for use in some Mordheim games! They'd look good going up against those Witch Hunters that we saw last year...

All of the cards in the set have gone through the update process to make them viable for the current Warhammer Underworlds gaming scene which is neat. Previous cards for these warbands can still be used in the Relics format and they can also be folded into Nemesis games when combined with Universal Rivals decks out there.
It's great to see these Warhammer Underworlds warbands returning with updated decks so the game continues to feature a rich variety of options for those diving in. It's a little bit of a shame that they're coming as one big pack but as mentioned earlier, maybe it's a set that you could split with some friends.
Will you be scooping these warbands up?

These small warbands were the best thing GW ever did.
So full of personality and charm.
I kind of wished they had been given WarCry stats instead of AoS army stats, because they feel a bit lost in full armies.
