Ninja Division & Soda Pop Announce New Super Dungeon Kickstarter
September 15, 2015 by deltagamegirl22
Paintbrushes at the ready! Ninja Division and Soda Pop Games announced today that another Kickstarter is on the horizon with the Super Dungeon Legends Kickstarter!
Get ready for an impressive amount of chibi cuteness for the world of Super Dungeon Explore. This project is launching three new products in one pledge with Super Dungeon Explore: 2nd Edition, The Midnight Tower and Super Dungeon Legends.
Super Dungeon Explore: 2nd Edition, features new sculpts of the nine classic Heroes, all new kobolds, drakes, Rex the kobold ogre, and Starfire the Ruby Dragon. The classic Dragonback Peaks tiles have been updated and reimagined, featuring all new stunning art, to bring them in line with other 2nd Edition tilesets from Forgotten King, Von Drakk Ghost House, and Dungeons of Crystalia.
To further increase replayability, all monsters come with multiple profiles. Battle shadow kobolds from the depths of the Nether Rifts, elemental drakes from the Fire Flows, a mighty armored kobold ogre, among others!
The Midnight Tower level expansion reveals the dreaded armies of The Midnight Queen. Armies of baroque-armored Nether Elves issue forth from the corrupted Tower of the Goddess. Within their ranks, cursed Spider Speakers summon scuttling hordes of spiders, spinning webs of shadow and poisoning their foes.
Alongside them march powerful Knights of the Tower on spectral steeds, while Tower Stalkers lurk in the shadows weakening the mightiest Heroes, before their fellows strike the final blow. Three new Heroes take up the call to adventure: the rugged Hearthsworn Tincan, sneaky Cat Burglar, and brutal Riftling Warrior."
"Super Dungeon Legends is the centerpiece of this mighty Super Dungeon extravaganza. Legends take the game to a whole new level with the introduction of progressive campaign play. Heroes battle through adventures earning crystals to spend on powerful new skills and abilities. Advance in class to unlock even more powerful versions.
Dismantle your loot and treasure to craft bizarre and wondrous new items, under the watchful gaze of the Golden Eye of the Goddess. Two new and powerful dice are introduced—Citrine and Amethyst—providing new possibilities to combat. New smaller dungeon rooms and hallways make their debut, increasing the diversity of dungeon layouts.
If you have always wanted to roleplay in the world of Super Dungeon, Legends provides rules for narrative adventures, nonplayer characters, and out-of-combat skills. An all new world guide further expands on the realms, races, monsters, and personalities of Crystalia."
Well, I don't know about you, but they have MY attention! Keep your eyes peeled on Mondays and Thursdays as they promise to leave a lovely trail of chibi breadcrumbs leading up to the Kickstarter.
Will there be new chibis in your Super Dungeon Explore future?

The missus wont let me put any more money into SDE =( I really REALLY was looking forward to this…
Oh, man I know what you mean. We’ve got a rule at our home that we acquire minis at the rate we paint them, and do I ever need to get painting.
If I get enough of it done (maybe ALL of the SDE done) then I’m sure we’ll be in on the KS. If not- I might have too many projects to get into this.
My missus won’t let me skip anything SDE. 😀
I think it’s safe to say I’m backing this one.
While I sort of groan at the idea of 2.0 replacing my original SDE box – a box I can still use thanks to TFK – I am very keen to see the Midnight Tower and Legends. My kids love this game 😀
It might be cheaper to wait for those two at retail if you don’t want the 2nd ed box. The new tiles and sculpts and the alt cards mean I’m happy to add it to my collection.
I use the old box stuff a lot (my wife even cut up the sides of the boards so that they all fit together).
At the same time, I wouldn’t mind seeing new sculpts of our old favorites.
And it looks like there will be RPG rules too? Man, for an RPG, I’d probably want to convert some minis, so having doubles of some of the SDE characters would be a boon.
Awww yeah! More SDE? Yes please!
I love my SDE and this will be just as awesome.
I’ll be all over this!!
oh yeah! all over this!
When does it start?
Brother. G
No launch date as of yet.
Some news on the content of the 2nd ed box and confirmation that there’ll be a pledge level without it.
