If you have played Board Royale, you will know the cut-throat survival theme is not a lighthearted journey, amongst the shores of a sand-covered island!

The game itself is super competitive, battling your way with cards to becoming the ultimate survivor on a deserted island. But, due to the main focus being that you must take out your opponents, the collaborative element was missing.

Well, not anymore as brand new expansions have made their way on to Kickstarter - along with a reprint of the game - providing a new collaborative way of playing. Turning the game from a player vs player base game, into an all-out sandbox that will appeal to any type of player.

There are a few new expansions that will make collaborative gameplay possible in Board Royale. But the one that really excites me is, Wild Hunt. And no, I am not talking about the fearsome enemies as part of Witcher 3, I am talking about beasts of all shapes and sizes for you and your teammates to take down.

Wild Hunt adds beasts, companions and bosses to the game, giving you and your once opponents a chance to team up and take on some new characters with a new gameplay style to match.

When I say beasts, it's not just your usual wild boar on the island that you will sacrifice! Beasts alike Raptors are coming for your demise and it is down to yourself and your teammates to keep an eye on these quick-witted dinos, along with other normal and fantastical creatures coming your way.

Companions add another layer to the game giving you and your buddies an extra chance at a new ability. Not only do you get to team up with your friends, but you can team up with the island's finest providing you with an extra hand (or claw) in your adventures.

Bosses are exactly what you expect from any game: a big bad looking to cause chaos to your board. So, if velociraptors are mere beasts, what can we expect from bosses? T-Rex's inhabit the island too, so players will need to outsmart beasts as large as that to reign the ultimate survival team.

Wild Hunt is only one of five expansions available on the current Kickstarter campaign, along with a fancy, new and shiny of the beloved base game.

Other expansions include:

• Zombies - You and other players can fight or join the incoming zombie hoard
• Missions - Put your social skills to the test to complete secret missions throughout
• Skills II - New character classes to join the fun
• Secret Weapons - A new selection of highly experimental, advanced technical weapons
• Secret Weapons will only be available as part of this Kickstarter campaign, and will not be available to be sold in retail stores.

The collaborative effort is what was missing for me in Board Royale, so I am looking forward to working with others to achieve victory in the all-new expansions.
