As previewed over on Dune News Net, Gale Force Nine is working away on a new version of the Dune board game. Dune: A Game Of Conquest And Diplomacy is going to be getting an update in September 2021 to mark the release of the new film.

This new take on the game does of course build on the forty years that this game has been in development. It contains the same core features of the Dune board game but with streamlined rules, a new market deck and more ways to play. There is a brand new two-player mode for example that opens up more opportunities for you to enjoy the game.

The game also has a new look, influenced by the movie that is popping up later this year. I'm not usually a fan of games that use screenshots and such in place of traditional art but this doesn't look too bad. The cover for the game certainly looks pretty neat!
If you're new to Dune, you'll take on the role of four of the great factions within this Sci-Fi world. You will be able to play as House Atreides, House Harkonnen, the Fremen, and the Imperium as you battle for the mysterious spice so you can take control of the planet. Build your forces, destroy your enemies and take command.
What do you make of the new look for Dune: A Game Of Conquest And Diplomacy?

It’s looking good so far.
Looking at the figures you can use Atomic’s in the game. very ott?
Seems interesting.
“spice must flow”
“father! sleeper has awaken!”
They have dropped the Bene Gesserit and Spacing Guild factions. Best win of my gaming career was as Bene Gesserit. I aided the enemy of the Atreides against him for almost the whole game then entered into an alliance with him to take back his lost territory and forced him to win in the turn I had predicted – meaning I won outright. That was a sweet sweet victory. I am not sure how I feel about a game that has lost those flavours
Ooh they are in the game and an expansion box with the Ixian and Tieilaxu to follow. All the main factions are in the game or more expansions to be announced.
they still print the original Dune game, my guess is this is an easier buy in for people who may not want a 10 hour epic game. https://boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/283355/dune
