Dive Into A New Dungeon Delve With Dungeon Saga Origins
May 9, 2024 by brennon
You can now get your hands on the updated dungeon crawler from Mantic Games, Dungeon Saga Origins. If you're someone who likes HeroQuest and wants to dive into a game with a little more bite then maybe consider dungeon-delving in Mantic's Fantasy world of Pannithor.
Dungeon Saga Origins // Mantic Games
The new Core Set for Dungeon Saga Origins can be played in a couple of different ways. You can either approach the game in a classic one-versus-many mode where one player takes on the role of the Overlord, controlling the behaviour of the various monsters that the heroes encounter. You can also use the Digital Overlord to run the game using an inbuilt AI which allows you to approach the game in a cooperative mode instead.
Orlaf // Dungeon Saga Origins
The classic foursome from the original Dungeon Saga are here. The Barbarian Orlaf is joined by the Elf Madriga and Dwarf Rordin. All of these miniatures have had an update since their previous iteration and if you're someone looking to slap some paint on your miniatures, you've got some treats awaiting you.

Rordin // Dungeon Saga Origins
You can't have a dungeon-delving party without a spellcaster and that's where Danor completes the line-up. I'm sure that you've got your favourite worked out already. I think I'll have to claim Rordin although I do quite like the idea of playing Danor.

Putting a bit of a spin on classics is what Mantic do well and you'll see that in the different enemies that you'll be battling when you dive into Dungeon Saga Origins. There are plenty of undead of course but rather than being your classic shambling humans, you've got Dwarf Revenants...

...and the occasional Zombie Troll that you'll be running into. There are eighteen undead miniatures in total which, alongside the heroes, come pre-assembled so you just need to crack them out of the box and get going.

Designed for players aged ten and up, Dungeon Saga Origins seems like the perfect stepping stone for a family to dive deeper into a hobby board game. The Trial Of Tyranny Quest Book will give you plenty to sink your teeth into and it's also a great hobby journey too. Get the kids involved with painting their hero or perhaps some of the dungeon monsters.

If the core game has you excited then how about taking that next step and also getting your hands on the Glimmer Of Greed expansion for Dungeon Saga Origins?
Glimmer Of Greed Expansion // Mantic Games
Glimmer Of Greed is an expansion to Dungeon Saga Origins and continues the story with your four original heroes. You've got a new story to dive into with new enemies based on the Goblins of Pannithor. There are new rules, cards and mechanics for you to get stuck into and once again you can either play Glimmer Of Greed with an Overlord or cooperatively against the app.
