New Airborne Adventures Await In Sleeping Gods
April 20, 2022 by fcostin
The next instalment to the ever-so successful Sleeping Gods series is now up on Gamefound. Bringing a standalone sequel to the tabletop, as players traverse into new lands via winged vehicle in Distant Skies.
Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies // Red Raven Games
In the original title, players would be taking to the mystical waters exploring island by island for God Totems in hopes of returning home. In a new method of transport, Distant Skies brings players ten years later in 1937 as their cargo plane heads through a mysterious portal. With hopes of exploring the island for an escape home: away from the horrors and dangers that await within the new game atlas before the portal closes.
Atlas and Card Preview // Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies
Sleeping Gods has been a returning title on my tabletop since its release. Working as an open-world experience, time and time again I have trekked through unknown waters, and met some incredible characters focusing on a narrative across each island within the original release. However, there is a new mechanic being added in as players soar the skies, bringing a combat deck in place, drawing from their hand when they come up against some trouble!
Combat Preview - Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies
The new environment will be placing players in the sky, turning the page on the atlas when players are ready for new exploration. They will have to fortify and camp in unknown territories, seek out God Totems and hope to return from the harsh and enlightening world, building on the story elements of the original title.
Sleeping Gods Collector's Pledge // Distant Skies Gamefound Campaign
If you are keen on getting more Sleeping Gods tabletop content, along with Sleeping Gods: Distant Skies there are a few different pledges that will allow you to dip into the new content with add-ons or Sleeping Gods as a whole.
There is a ton to see and collect on the Gamefound campaign page, funded in the first 2 minutes and still 21 days left on the clock. There are no stretch goals, but you can be sure to expect some surprises coming to the campaign, adding more to the deluxe edition which is only available during crowdfunding.
