June 9, 2022 by fcostin
Lookout Games have been releasing more information on their upcoming title Atiwa. Putting the adorable fruit bat as the face of the box; highligting the need for balance in the environment in The Atiwa Range, a region of southeastern Ghana in Africa.
Atiwa Box Art // Lookout Games
Atiwa shares a story of our own world, and places 1-4 players into the role of protector and carer in a small community nearing the Atwia range. Showcasing the importance of fruit bats in our ecosystem, players will manage a series of tasks to ensure their community prospers from fruit and bat living in harmony.
Highlighting the harsh issues on our globe, such as logging, hunting and mining - areas that are rich in nature are deteriorating without the help of a restored balance.
Lookout Games are inviting players to share in this symbiotic relationship with an advanced worker placement mechanic as players explore their way into new lands, take care of the fruit bat, manage the sweet fruit and encourage the happiness of the community. The player who can successfully balance their community into fruition alongside the environment is the winner.
There is not too much released on the title yet, but it certainly sounds as if it is will be challenging. A nice twist on utilising resources and building as part of a community, whilst bringing awareness to the environment! However, if you do speak German, you can head over to the website to check out the rules in full.
Atiwa is set to be released at SPIEL '22 in October this year, so if you would love to learn more about the ecosystem of The Atiwa Range is a region of southeastern Ghana in Africa, or even you are just an animal fiend and want to help out the fruit bat - be sure to keep your eyes peeled for Atwia in retail this Autumn.
Do you think you will enjoy managing a small community off The Atiwa Range?
