Mythic Games has been teasing more artwork and miniature previews for their upcoming board game for 2022, Anastyr. This is going to be hitting Kickstarter later this year and it might seem familiar to some folks out there!

Anastyr is lining up to be a board game for one-to-four players which can be played in a campaign-style affair or in one-off quests. You'll recognise the art above which is by the fantastic Wayne Reynolds who has worked on the likes of Pathfinder in the past.

We also got a look at more concept art and some of the miniature designs they have been working on...

The miniatures are looking great, as is the case with all of the Mythic Games projects, and they are certainly getting across that idea of a more "savage" Conan-esque world. The art continues that theme with monolithic landscapes that border on the uncanny in their design. It certainly looks interesting as a game world.

Why Is Anastyr Familiar?

Those of a certain vintage who remember back to the year 2012 might be aware that DUST Studios were the original creators of this world. They launched a series of 32mm miniatures back in the day that we covered in the news!

Konrad Master Of Blades - Anastyr

The range didn't expand much with only around six or so miniatures released for the collection. But, you'll see that the aesthetic and themes have carried over into the brand new artwork and the miniature design by the team at Mythic.

Undraal Queen Of The North - Anastyr

As a reminder, these miniatures we're showing here are NOT the miniatures from the new version of the world/game but they give you an indication as to the type of characters and foes that you're going to be meeting during your adventures.

Skoll The Protector - Anastyr

As you can see, Konrad and Undraal are still part of the team but you've also got two more barbarians to use when you dive into combat. That's pretty much what we know about the game so far. Mythic tend to be very open with their previews for their board games so I would imagine we'll see a lot more information before the launch of the Kickstarter.

Do you remember these miniatures from back in the day?
