Make sure to get stuck in and check out the project as the team has been working hard on all manner of new miniatures for the game. Plus, they have tightened up and tweaked the gaming experience from Mythic Battles: Pantheon to make it even more fun to play.
Kickstarter Pledge Options
Down below you can see the initial Core Box pledge option for the game plus some of the expansions which are available as part of the Kickstarter. There is a lot to get backing!
Core Box Pledge // Mythic Battles: Ragnarok
There is a lot in the core box which is very cool but things then get even more impressive with the relevant expansions. Fancy playing as the All-Father himself, Odin?
Asgard Expansion // Mythic Battles: Ragnarok
Maybe you fancy explore the saga of Ragnar and delving into the story of this semi-mythical figure who raided the shores of England and deep into France? He also sired the leaders of the Great Heathen Army!
Ragnar's Saga Expansion // Mythic Battles: Ragnarok
You could follow the story of this badass war leader and his sons and they fight another battle during the end of days at Ragnarok. Talking of the end of days, we also have some monstrous expansions available as part of the campaign.
Jormungand Expansion // Mythic Battles: Ragnarok
Surt Expansion // Mythic Battles: Ragnarok
Nidhogg Expansion // Mythic Battles: Ragnarok
The team at Monolith have really plumped the depths of Norse Mythology and added some great looking miniatures into the mix here. I love that their "dragons" are done in the style of Wyrms which works really well with the Norse theme as an example. Plus, who could say no to some of the epic heroes and monsters they've dipped into!
It looks like there is a lot planned for the campaign when it comes to Stretch Goals and Add-Ons so keep an eye out for more...
There are many, many more for you to check out on their Kickstarter campaign page. This was just me picking out some of my favourites. I am a sucker for Beowulf and the monstrous Grendel/Grendel's Mother in particular.

Funded in under 20 minutes. I’m hoping they offer the 1.5 upgrade pack for Mythic Battles: Pantheon as an add-on.
That would be good if they did.
One of the the things that put off the 1.5 upgrade before was the postage. Because it included so much cardboard that had been ‘corrected’ it cost almost as much for shipping as it did for the upgrade (might even have cost more) and I didn’t want any of the expansions. But if they offer the 1.5 upgrade and I bundle with the new game, the postage seems less significant. I do like the game and have had some fun, but sadly not had chance to play in years, initally because of scheduling difficulties with my board gaming friend… our… Read more »
I saw the upgrade pack in the expansions survey for $20, an M said they’d offer all the expansions except for the French compendium. I also skipped the upgrade b/c of shipping.
in one of the posts on their other kickstarters they said that they will be reprinting everything (except the French version of the compendium and they may look into a solution for that).
So I think that means the 1.5 upgrade will be in there somewhere as well.
(Oops — someone already answered this!)
Strongly considering backing this. I love Mythic Battles: Pantheon and this looks every bit the same/better quality
One look at the minis … another at the minor tweaks and then I saw the ‘all in pledge’ already listed.
So *eh* … I ragnarocked da credit card 😉
Loved the first game so this was a no brainer. And of course funded almost immediately.
Ooh one please.
Mythic Battle newb here. In this Kickstarter one coudl get both sets, what would you veterans of Mythic Battles say, is it worth it or should I just get Ragnarok. It is after all the newest and improved version of the game.
I only got core pledge plus compendium on Mythic Battles: Pantheon for two reasons. 1) it was a lot of money for all the expansions. 2) The boxes when stacked on top of each other were 6 feet tall at least… too much stuff. I’m backing Ragnarok at core pledge, but will add Pantheon 1.5 upgrade if they offer it. In my opinion there is more than enough play variation buying just the core pledge with the large number of stretch goals you get thrown in. Hard to advise. I bought Pantheon because I love the greek myths and was… Read more »
Thanks, it did help.
Shelf Space and money are of course concerns, right now I’m in with the Raganrok Core because it’s the newer game. But personally I know more about the greece pantheon, though the Norse on also seems interesting.
Pantheon is a great game. Ragnarok looks awesome (and I’ll be getting it), but I think if you prefer the the Greek theme it would make more sense to get it rather than Ragnarok. It may be newer, it may be ‘better’ and improved… But I don’t think it’s going to be a hugely different game.
The narrators accent on the video certainly sounds like he’s been about. Shifts from a generic norse english speaker to Liverpool via the Scottish Borders and Newcastle! 😉
Need to be careful how many of the add-ons to go for. Asgard looks essential as does Ragnar Saga and a few of the Titans add to the game (something I missed from MB:P and can hopefully make up for in the reprint)
As the camapign comes to a close I’m having my doubts about remaining a backer.
I had no doubts with MB: Pantheon and happy with the Core Box plus Pandora’s Box.
But this campaign doesn’t seem anywhere near as good. It’s 20% more expensive for a start. The stretch goals seem less impressive in quantity. And the norse pantheon is just more dull… not mention hard to pronounce.
Unless something amazing happens in the last 48 hours of the camapaign I think I’ll pull the plug and save my money.
