Explore My Island With Reiner Knizia’s New Legacy Board Game
March 22, 2022 by brennon
Reiner Knizia is back at it again with a new game this year. Continuing the partnership with Thames & Kosmos, he is going to be releasing My Island which takes familiar concepts from My City and introduces it to a new legacy game.
My Island // Thames & Kosmos
Taking the ideas of My City, My Island will continue the competitive legacy game format. You will use connected hexagons to create your own unique island over twenty-four games. Looking back at My City gives you an idea of what kind of game you're going to be diving into...

Throughout your games, you'll experience the unfolding history of your island and its many secrets. Just like My City, My Island will slowly get you used to new options as each game session will introduce new rules and game mechanics. All of this will permanently change your island and alter your strategy.
As a two-to-four player game, My Island and My City work very nicely as games for partners to play. I know a few folks who have just enjoyed playing this game with a significant other of a lazy afternoon. It has plenty of tactical depth but can also just be an exercise in "putting nice tiles on a board" which I very much enjoy!
Are you going to be giving this a go?
