Face New Monsters In Hellboy: The Board Game Expansions
June 10, 2020 by brennon
Mantic Games showed off their Giant Robot Hellboy yesterday which was very cool but we also got to see three new expansions added onto their webstore for Hellboy: The Board Game too.
B.P.R.D Expansion // Hellboy: The Board Game
This first set adds all manner of weird new creatures into the mix. If you didn't get your hands on the Kickstarter version of the game then this will throw a bunch of additional events, case files, ghouls and ghasts into the mix that will ruin your fun!
I've played with a few of these in the big Kickstarter version of Hellboy and they can be a right pain in the arse! It's always good to level up the challenge once in a while and the Bat Swarms, Killer Birds and Werewolves certainly do that.
Hellboy Hunts Baba Yaga
As well as this general set, you can also pick up two Monster Boosters for the game too. For example, here is the Baba Yaga Monster Booster.
Baba Yaga Monster Booster
As you might have guessed, this throws the mysterious and powerful Baba Yaga into the mix for you to deal with during your games of Hellboy: The Board Game. She becomes a new boss for you to fight in the game and a foe with more eldritch powers to throw at her enemies.
Hellboy Wraps Up Hecate
You can also pick up the Hecate Monster Booster for Hellboy: The Board Game too complete with the writhing creature herself.

Again, in this set you're going to get the monster, unexpected threat cards and the boss behaviour gubbins which make her a properly interesting foe to fight on the tabletop. I have not experienced engaging Baba Yaga and Hecate myself in the game but hopefully, we'll work our way through to them both soon.
What do you make of these new expansions for Hellboy: The Board Game?

Hellboy witch Hunter an monster slayer.
Those look really good.
They are quite nice, I backed the KS so I already have these models
If you want the Minis but dont want to pay for the playingcards, you can buy the “Dungeon Essentials: Dungeon Creatures” box for less money.
fyi, Mantic still has its Kings of War-themed CYOA available free!
