Monolith Return To Kickstarter With Claustrophobia 1643
March 11, 2019 by brennon
Monolith Edition is going to be heading back to Kickstarter with 2500 Collector's Boxes for Claustrophobia 1643. The campaign will last forty-eight hours and deliver towards the end of March. It goes live March 12th 9pm GMT+1.
As you can see they have already portioned out the boxes for the various areas of the world so if you're living in Asia and Oceania you'll want to be quick if you want to get onboard and snap up this game. If you're interested in gameplay ahead of the Kickstarter to see if it's something you'd like then you can check out our Let's Play below...
...and our Unboxing here.
So, if those have got you excited, make sure to keep an eye on Kickstarter for the launch of their new campaign. Just to reiterate this is effectively a pre-order for the game using Kickstarter. The games are already produced and this is simply an ordering portal from Monolith to get them out there to the masses. So, you WILL get your game.
The team actually showed off some rather fun new painted shots of their characters and creatures from the game. I think you'll agree it has some very good looking figures included within the game box.
So, with the date for the new Kickstarter just around the corner are you going to be snapping up a new copy of Claustrophobia 1643?
Make sure to include your thoughts on it all below and let us know if you were able to play the game yourself following the last campaign.

I’m saying nothing about using kickstarter in this way… it’s already been said and KS will be used like this again no matter how angry people get.
I missed this last time around as I couldn’t get anyone else interested. Maybe this time I can!!
Love the look of the hell hounds.
Didn’t they just do a KS for this in limited numbers? Now another one in even lower numbers. It feels like they are trying to make this game feel exclusive and to own it is to be privileged. I really dislike how monolith do business. Well, I dislike the whole KS exclusive nonsense in general. But putting them in limited numbers for 48hours only is pushing fomo to a whole new level, allowing only 100 people in oceania to buy the game…really? It seems they are more interested in making demand by scarcity (ensuring each time they do this KS… Read more »
I’ve got a horrible feeling this is the leftover boxes from the initial run of 10000 units. Either way I’m not licking this toad; not even if you tell me I inherit Apsley House if I did. #paintingbacklogformonths
it is, it’s what they said they would do in the last kickstarter after they had made sure all the orders had been fulfilled successfully so they weren’t sitting on dead stock.
These are the leftovers. This is a great way to use Kickstarter. It may have been intended to develop new projects which is nice. But the chance to see who is interested in a limited run product means that the ‘few’ who want it can get it as long as they can reach a profitable threshold. Otherwise it would just be available to no one. And why not? It doesn’t cause anyone any harm to do this. They aren’t pretending it is something else or trying to pull the wool over anyone’s eyes. Good idea. I’d like to see more… Read more »
I agree. Using KS to do preorders is a more explicit and honest (and safer for customers) way of doing what many have already been doing.
I didn’t back this and won’t be backing this ‘finish up the last of their stock’ as I’m not especially interested in the look of the game, but I don’t have a problem with them doing this.
