Monolith Show Off Painted Mythic Battles: Ragnarok Ymir
December 10, 2018 by brennon
Monolith has been showing off some of the painted versions of Ymir, the mighty new creature that will no doubt loom over games of Mythic Battles: Ragnarok when it launches on Kickstarter. Here is the one that really caught our eye from Sylvain Mochet.
Many folks weren't overly wowed by the look of Ymir as part of the updated Mythic Battles: Pantheon Kickstarter from Monolith but I reckon that now there's a layer of paint on this beast, it's really hit the nail on the head.
I love the shambling look of Ymir, a mountain of creaking and cracking ice held aloft by the runic bands that encircle his body. That snarling maw is also a great addition to the model from the artwork!
You can also check out some more work on Ymir from Eric Bourlett HERE too. What do you make of Ymir and does it get you excited for Mythic Battles: Ragnarok?

Bloomin eck. What a paintjob.
That looks stunning.
Nice to see, that Mnolith keeps Mythic Battles alive after taking over from Mythic Games!
Still imagine him shouting ‘Get off my lawn!’ in a crotchety old voice.
a fabulous looking figure.
Of Ymir’s flesh was earth created,
of his blood the sea,
of his bones the hills,
of his hair trees and plants,
of his skull the heaven;
and of his brows the gentle powers
formed Midgard for the sons of men;
but of his brain
the heavy clouds are all created
I don’t see it in that mini. But then I’m quite anal about germanic/norse mythology.
Sweet Jeebus! If that were the kind of sculpt that was made for the Rasputina crew in Malifaux to stand in for the Ice Golem I might not have gotten hooked on Ramos.
I am more interested to see what Mythic Battles: Ragnarok brings new to the game besides more miniatures.
