Monolith Bring Conan Back With Red Nails Expansion
October 16, 2023 by brennon
Monolith has announced that they are going to be launching a new Conan Kickstarter! The board game is going to be coming back with a new expansion, Red Nails.
Conan: Red Nails Expansion // Monolith
This is going to be the next Kickstarter project from Monolith which will deliver after Mythic Battles. Conan and his followers will head to Stygia and wander the wilderness in either standard heroes versus overlord face-off or in solo/cooperative modes.
As well as offering up the new Red Nails expansion, this is also going to be a chance to get your hands on the King Pledge once more if you missed out in the past. You'll be able to scoop up the core box and all manner of fun new bits and pieces for use with your continuing Conan adventures.
As well as the aforementioned core modes, Red Nails will also come with a new Versus Mode which allows you to choose a small skirmish force and battle it out on the game boards from the game. That is very cool indeed and certainly allows them to do some fun things with the Conan mechanics.
Could you be tempted to pick up Conan: Red Nails?

+I’ve got a load of this stuff which I painted last year. Design of the minis is good and the casting is okay in almost all cases. The rules are pretty good butgiven how many minis we get and how few are used in any one scenario it would be great to get an option for more of them on the table at once. I’ll certainly give it a look. Stygia was the most interesting looking expansion. I’m hoping we don’t get a transfer of monsters from MB:P to bulk out the release. That put me off the last one.
Bring it on! One of the Top 10 most played games of my group as well as RPG.
this is awesome news
I missed out on Conan when it landed on KS years back. But I picked up the core box at UK Board Games Expo, and since then I have tracked down almost everything else on Ebay.
Needless to say I am in!
Conan is super fun to play, and it’s one of the things that got me back into the hobby, so it has a special place in my heart.
I’m very excited for this, although there is a hint of caution behind ot after the “Beyond Monolith” debacle. I’ve been onboard with Conan since the original Kickstarter back in 2015, originally backing it because it looked like a good deal for a bunch of RPG miniatures in a convenient package. Turns out the game was actually pretty good. No, actually. It was amazing. It’s by far the most played Kickstarter game I own. Since then I have managed to scavenge all the expansions through various means and if this brings a means of playing that game as a skirmish… Read more »
I played this game a ton when it first came out, but did find it frustrating that the vast majority of the stretch goal content is barely used in-game. I found the Conqueror expansion to be a little underwhelming, with too much attention paid to the solo mode, and again, under-utilized components (only a third of the scenarios use the new map boards, for example). I had planned on giving this one a miss, but the PvP idea intrigues me so I’m at least going to take a close look at it when the Kickstarter campaign launches.
