Monolith Announce Ancient Egyptian Mythic Battles: Isfet!
February 21, 2024 by brennon
Monolith has announced a new Kickstarter campaign coming later this year that expands the Mythic Battles game range. They have explored Ancient Greek and Viking mythology and are now turning their attention to Ancient Egypt with Mythic Battles: Isfet.
Mythic Battles: Isfet // Monolith
Mythic Battles: Isfet will feature the battles between the Ancient Egyptian gods, building on the mechanics of Pantheon and Ragnarok that came before it. The campaign won't begin until around Spring when deliveries of previous campaigns have reached backers of some of their latest campaigns.
Mythic Battles has always been a series we've liked playing in the past and it's great to see it expanding to explore different mythologies. Like in previous games, you'll be taking on the role of mighty gods, heroes, monsters and troops as you battle for supremacy.
I'm sure that we'll see more previews of Isfet in the coming weeks and months as we move towards the launch of the campaign.
Are you excited to see what Monolith do with Mythic Battles: Isfet?

This is the one I’ve been waiting for! Very excited to see this coming to add to Mythic Battles Pantheon
Yeah, Egypt was the next logical pantheon, I am still hoping they go left field one day and do the Hindu gods!
I want that Lord Shani Dev riding on a giant Crow!
When Ragnarok was announced … I was kind of excited, but as per usual by the time it arrived I had almost forgotten about it.
And with the recent issues that Mythic/Monolith had I’m not convinced I can trust them to reach the finish line even if it does get funded. They’ve said that they’ve changed their strategy and fixed the problems. For those backing this kickstarter I hope they do.
Which makes me sad, because the entire concept had such potential.
I hope they find a way to make this boardgame series available at retail instead of only kickstarter.
I think that only Pantheon was Mythic and Monolith. Since then, Monolith have been doing Ragnarok and Conan themselves – as far as I know without the chaos that’s been afflicting Mythic.
Was it monolith or mythic that asked backers for more money to cover shipping and blaming it on covid increases?
Whichever it was… they should have taken the loss themselves and delived the goods.
It was Mythic – expanded to quickly and made a shedload of poor business decisions (sacking most of the PR team in Europe to hire The Dice Tower’s Sam Healy being one of them!).
Lost respect for them when they charged stupid amount of money for upgrade kit to fix the mistakes they made in the first printing of Pantheon.
And getting exciting about the same game with just different plastic bits is not going to happen.
