Mojito Bringing Cleopatra Board Game Back To The Tabletop
January 3, 2019 by brennon
Mojito Studio is bringing a crack team together including Bruno Cathala and Ludovic Maublanc to relaunch Cleopatra And The Society Of Architects via Kickstarter later this year.
The game features new artwork by the very talented Miguel Coimbra as you can see above which very much fits into the mould of this being a family game. You will be playing as the architects of Ancient Eygpt competing to become her favourite as you build sections of her magnificent palace. Did I mention the palace is now going to be 3D?
There are a few gameplay changes since the previous version of the game too...
- The combinations of resource cards to discard in order to build pieces of the palace have been reworked
- The player rewards for building the palace's pieces have been recalculated
- The consequences of corruption have been reviewed
- The Great Priest is no longer activated in the same way
- The player count has changed from 3-5 to 2-4
- There is a new specific system to manage the character cards, which are no longer part of the deck, and are instead handled separately
One of the neat mechanics in the game is that whilst you might be able to take some shortcuts towards building sections of the palace at the end of the game if you're too corrupt then Cleopatra will throw you to the crocodiles! You have to palace the big boons these actions give you with trying to take the slow and steady path.
Did you play the original game?
"...if you're too corrupt then Cleopatra will throw you to the crocodiles!"
