Modiphius Working On New Skyrim Board Game For Gamefound

Modiphius is continuing with their support for Bethesda video games as they announced that they are going to be bringing The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Board Game to crowdfunding via Gamefound this summer.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Board Game // Modiphius
At the moment, no more details have been revealed about the board game beyond the fact that it will be for one-to-four players. The solo option does make me think that this is going to be less of a strategy game and perhaps more of a dungeon crawling adventure. The board game could use miniatures from the existing line or perhaps go down the route of pre-assembled plastic based on the sculpts that already exists.
I would like to see them go in a different direction. I think that a Skyrim board game would work really well as a proper strategy game where you play as the forces of the Stormcloaks or Imperials and battle for control of the different regions in Skyrim. You could then "use" the Dragonborn as a wandering hindrance which could interrupt the plans of your opponent. It would be akin to the old Conan board game which was produced by Fantasy Flight Games!
What do you think of the news of a new Skyrim game? It seems this game property will never really go away!

Ok, so FFG did a Fallout boardgame, Modiphius a miniatures game…. and now they want to do both?! oO They are milking that licence more than Disney 😉
They’re doing a pretty good job so far ‘though so I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with it next.
To be fair, Disney has some real winners as well (like Crisis Protocol).
Hope Skyrim is awesome.
Their figures for the other game are great looking.
This intrigues me.
Ideally, an Elder Scrolls board game would be a massive campaign endeavor akin to Gloomhaven or Middara. I don’t feel like it is enough to have the characters and races represented in the game, the game itself really needs to be this huge crazy thing. (I kind of think that’s where the Steamforged Horizon Zero Dawn game went awry- they didn’t really try to make it a massive campaign game).
Right now, I feel like we know too little about this board game to know whether or not that’s the direction they’re going with it.
