Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game Revived Thanks To CMON

Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game was cancelled and looked like it was going the way of the dodo. CMON, however, have resurrected the game by Emerson Matsuuchi and is skipping Kickstarter and crowdfunding, instead heading to retail in 2024.

Pre-orders are now available for this cooperative board game for one-to-four players where you take on the role of fan favourite video game characters from the franchise like Snake, Meryl, Gray Fox, and Hal "Otacon" Emmerich. Gameplay is against an inbuilt AI and features a mix of daring gunfights and stealth gameplay, very typical of your classic Metal Gear Solid experience.

Within the game, you'll find the VR Mission Book which contains six different Missions which can be played with any number of players. There is also a challenging campaign called Shadow Moses which will lead you through fourteen different encounters.

You obviously also get the stunning miniatures representing the different characters, brought to life in plastic and just waiting to be painted. Pre-orders for Metal Gear Solid: The Board Game are for the Integral Edition which comes with a 109-page graphic novel which brings each mission of your campaign to life and you also get a big 13cm Metal Gear REX Miniature to boot!
