Mantic Games is bringing the mayhem and madness of the Worms video game to the tabletop with a new board game! Worms: The Board Game, is available for you to back right now, packed with all the super weapons, crates, explosives and prods that you could want.

Worms: The Board Game Kickstarter // Mantic Games

Worms: The Board Game is a two-to-four player game which looks to bring the mayhem and craziness of Worms to the tabletop in style. Much like with the video game, you'll make a team of Worms and look to try and survive to the end whilst explosions go off around you and the land you're standing on starts to crumble away.

Set Up // Worms: The Board Game

Any of the Worms miniatures included in the box by Mantic can be used to represent your team (symbolised by coloured rings). You'll then be using a hand of cards representing weapons in order to get your Worms to do something deadly, preferably to your enemies. Just like with the video game, the land can be destroyed and the board game's hex tiles turn into water tiles after they take a number of craters.

How To Play // Worms: The Board Game

The name of the game is eliminations and as you injure worms, you get the chance to take them out properly and swing the game in your favour. A good worm is never down though and there's always the chance for them to pull something out of the bag and get their own back against superior numbers! Additionally, you also have the random Sudden Death Card which gets added to the Drop Deck meaning that, as the games go longer they could end up going a little bit wild!

Worms: The Board Game also comes with a options for taking it beyond your standard games and adding in variants so you can make your own game modes. From the looks of it, it really does feel like playing Worms on the tabletop!

Worms: The Board Game Pledges

When it comes to pledge options for Worms: The Board Game, there are two options for you to choose from. The first of these is the Mayhem Edition.

Mayhem Pledge // Worms: The Board Game

The Mayhem Pledge gets you access to the Collector's Edition of the game plus all of the daily reveals that Mantic are adding over the course of the campaign. If you want to go a little bit wild then you can also get your hands on the Armageddon Pledge.

Armageddon Pledge // Worms: The Board Game

This gives you new environments to play in, some lovely Worm Pink Dice, a neat play mat and dice tray plus a few art prints. You obviously also get all of the bonus reveals from Mantic Games that are coming out over the course of the campaign which (as of time of writing) lasts for sixteen days.

Worms: The Board Game will come to retail in 2024 but the Kickstarter gets you access to the fifth and sixth player expansion, plastic objects, more worms sculpts and a host of bonuses. So, it's worth having a look at it if you're enamoured by the game.
