We're pretty blown away by the quality of the sculpts and can't wait to give this one a go at the club over the weekend.

Yay! Welcome back weekender!
I missed weekender over new years but I hope you all had a great holiday break. I’m looking forward to your upcoming infinity campaign, I can’t wait for some news on when you guys are going to start!
Woo hoo, the weekender is back, looking forward to BoW 2016.
worth getting out of bed 🙂
Looking forward to what they coming year holds.
Looking forward to Blood Bowl returning.
Happy Weekend and welcome back… So that’s what withdrawal feels like!
@Warzan I believe the prohibition era was the primogenitor of nascar too, as cars were modified to outrun the fuzz when running moonshine! But I am a limey so I could be mistaken
I’d heard that mention on the Discovery Channel during one of their reality shows about hotrods.
And a quick google later :
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NASCAR
http://www.nascar.com/en_us/news-media/articles/2012/11/01/moonshine-mystique.html
So yeah, even NASCAR themselves confirm the origin story.
Let the New Year Begin! I already have a set, but can always use more 😀
the part about prohibition and turning the vid off made me laugh
Mostly because I created a drinking game where you take a shot every time Warren says something that makes you want to shut the weekender off
;p
hahaha
now on the news, great week for war gaming this has been.
Also? The rules for the walking dead game kinda reminded me of the rules for that Dead Meat game that Jasco Games tried to kickstart last year. Anybody else reminded of that?
Yep i had a Pledge on that Dead Meet game but did not lift up,
Right now i am pretty happy that Mantic do that kind of game so it will be safer to get our stuff cause i lost a fews hundres of $ at some compagny that did not send their stuff so right now i prefer to go with compagny that prouved they can deliver the merchandise and over that Mantic will give a good Quality product 🙂
I really cant believe i didnt notice the empty place in my heart where a zombie miniature wargame goes until now. Cant wait!
Since Walking Dead seems fond of a short life expectancy for any and most characters, will there be zombie sculpts of the Deceased (I know Zombicide is good for that)? I’d like to see vehicles as well in the game, like the RV, looks like there are police cars in the edges of the one photo. That 4Ground house would look great on the board.
What size board are we talking about for a playing area?
i do like the walking dead, but not read the comics,
so hope the crossbow and maybe a bow is silent.
One pledge level is a smart idea. I can always use more terrain too, especially if it’s a prize. 😉
On putting out Blood Bowl on general release; would they be allowed to under their agreement with Fantasy Flight games? Don’t they have the license to produce board games under GW IP? Maybe the licensing agreement has changed recently, given the return of specialist games and the two new 40K board games?
It hasn’t stopped GW releasing Space Hulk, Dreadfleet, Assassinorum, or Betrayal at Calth. Nor did it allow FFG to release a Blood Bowl game in anything other than a card game format. I doubt FFG have a blanket license to produce boardgames based on GW IP, rather specific and individual ones.
Do we think that the GW / FFG agreement will continue, seeing as FFG have Star Wars products to support and GW are pushing into that market with Specialist Games?
I think GW will keep the agreement as long as they feel the licensed products FFG release don’t compete with GW’s products, and even then they’ll likely just nix individual products. I’m not sure about FFG. They might grow to the point where they don’t need the hassle of having the IP compared to the revenue it generates for them. I don’t think it’s at that point yet.
If you look back to 1st edition blood bowl it was a board game with cardboard chits. There would not be anything stopping them from releasing their game again. The FFG game is a card game with a completely different feel.
I still play blood bowl we have a league in our area that typically gets 14-20 players per season.
Comments fore terrain 😉 great to see you guys back, happy new year!
Great videos to ease everyone back into a new year of wargaming and painting. Particularly like the debate over which GW starter sets to purchase. Keep it fellahs!
Congrats Ronnie !!! on getting a great IP
Loving playing Dungeon Saga but The Walking Dead just leaves me cold tbh (see page XXX) but good luck with it Ronnie…
On Dungeon Saga: undelivered items are expected in a kickstarter to a certain extent. The big issue that Warren didn’t deal with is the poor quality of the campaign rules in the Adventurer’s Companion, which will remain in the general release.
You mean rules as in how it plays or the spellos and see page XXX stuff?
I’ve seen comments that the second is sorted, is there some issue with the first?
I picked up the adventurers companion on pre-order and there is no sign of any typos etc, It seems to be a solid product. My gaming group will be creating some characters this week so we’ll see how it stands up then.
I can see now why my Deadzone incursion Kickstarter has been put on the back burner. I’m glad Mantic are busy but it would have been nice if they were busy with the stuff I’d invested in.
Walking dead seems to be similar to Deadzone Contagion. I wonder if it will be played on the Mars attacks mats.
Finally! Not my mornings feel complete again. A cup of coffee and weekender. Heaven.
Yeah weekender
If I was GW I’d hope my customers were Justins rather than Warrens. I want people to buy them and immediately begin growing the army. I definitely do not want people to buy one box and then move onto another box.
That’s true @redben – It hadn’t occured to me that GW would think people would collect multiple armies, thinking each time that they were buying a complete faction. Then again, I’m approaching it more from the angle of a 40k player. Or ex-40k player as it may be (although I still collect their stuff sometimes). On the other hand, I’d rather people bought all 6 factions over the course of the year even if they didn’t buy anything else, than just bought one faction and a couple of blisters but nothing more because they were put off by the prices.… Read more »
I wouldn’t be happy with either of those scenarios if I was GW. If these boxes don’t entice people into buying an army then they’ve failed.
Nice bit of serendipity in the show. 4Ground American terrain and The Walking Dead, you say?…
@Warzan – If I were to buy one of those GW starters, I’d go for the Nurgle force as I could pull double duty in Age of Sigmar and be a starter for a Nurgle themed Chaos Force – flesh it out with Death Guard or standard Chaos Marines …
The Zombie thing appears a vast resource of fun/scary/search of your pants gaming. Walking dead is great hope the game is too.
