Mantic Shows Production Minis For Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King’s Quest
May 19, 2015 by stvitusdancern
Mantic Games has released some pictures of the production miniatures for Dungeon Saga: The Dwarf King's Quest. The minis are a one piece coloured plastic and are based. It looks as if the bosses are in gray, the heroes in blue and the rest of the baddies in a sand / tan colour.
Plastic production figures. Left to right: Hoggar the Undead Zombie Troll Shaman, Mortibris the Necromancer, Grund the Undead Dwarf King and Elshara the Banshee.
Plastic production figures. Left to right: Orlaf the Human Barbarian, Rordin the Dwarf Fighter, Danor the Human Wizard and Madriga the Elf Ranger.
Plastic production figures. Left to right: Undead Dwarf Revenant, Skeletons, Skeleton Archer, Zombie Troll, Zombies, Ghost and Armoured Zombie.
The detail translates well to the plastic, which appears to be of the softer variety. When I receive mine I will probably paint them, OK who am I kidding, I will be painting mine. I just hope they will take to paint without too many issues, they will probably require a good washing first to get the oils of from processing. Just like other Mantic projects you get a lot of product for your money.
I can just imagine the shipping box stuffed with goodies and it is going to be a long three month til August. I wonder if I could convince Ronnie to bring mine to GenCon, hmmm.
What do you think of the production models?

good but not great, but they will do fine for their purpose 🙂 cant wait
well, i can’t wait for this game.. i like minis i hope their not to bendy
I believe they are the same as the Mars Attacks figs, there is a certain amount of flex, good level of detail and hot water will repose any bends in the minis. The quality and detail is a lot better in the flesh than the pics show.
Ronnie stated in a Facebook reply that the plastic is harder than the Mars Attack type. I haven’t had hands on experience with those but any worries about detail have been put to rest. Now who can speed up time?
Love them, and the orcs are green and abyssal’s are red. Both of which look excellent also.
They’re exactly what I was hoping for and based on this http://imgur.com/a/bkc40
They paint up really well also.
The warpath concepts look smashing as well, Forgefathers tank should look suitably spectacular.
Thanks for the link to the photos! Man… These are leaps and bounds better than what I was expecting!
Mantic’s mini’s are getting better all the time. These are great.
Wait till you see the dragon…
For the coloured pictures of the minis, I recommend throwing the pictures in an editing program and converting to black and white. You can really see the detail then! Very impressive!
Yup looking forward to receiving my sets. I will be painting them all!
The Elf Ranger has found not one, but two random small rocks to stand on.
This gives him height advantage for ranged attacks. 😛
Given the models are one piece there is a lot of undercutting. That would suggest a bendy plastic is needed to help with release from the moulds.
Am a bit out of the loop. Thought Mantic already did Skellies for Dwarf King’s Quest?

I’m tempted by those heroes but it’s unlikely that I buy into the game.
Do you think the figures will be available separately?
Very very excited about these, can’t wait to get them painted!
Good to see these – looking forward to more updates
