Love Is For Everyone In New Fog Of Love Design
October 12, 2018 by cassn
Fog of Love have announced new artwork for their covers designed to celebrate LGBTQ relationships. Working with designer Nikki Valens (Mansions of Madness 2nd Edition, Arkham Horror 3rd Edition), the creators of the romantic comedy board game are also planning to release an expansion which focuses on queer relationships.
While Fog of Love already allows players to participate as same-sex couples, it's refreshing to see that the dynamic and stories of non-heterosexual relationships will feature more prominently in the game.
Personally, I am already a fan of Fog of Love - there aren't many games which include the option to have an emotional breakdown in IKEA - and inclusivity in gaming is an issue which I care deeply about, so this news makes me incredibly happy!
Valens will be showing off her prototype at Essen at the end of this month, and we're incredibly excited to see what it includes.

what does Q stand for in LGBLQ?
I believe it stands for questioning
Actually it stands for Queer 🙂
It depends where you are in the world. Where I am it stands for questioning as we just called it LGBT then the Q was added because that’s what the Americans had, and Cass is right it does stand for Queer there and obviously in Ireland, in my country they interepret the Qas questioning as Questioning as Queer was considered covered by the L and G … I have no idea what midas’s second L stands for though obviously another regional variation.
I remember they talked about this during their Kickstarter. Basically, one player has to be blue, and the other pink, but they don’t necessarily need to be a man and woman for their game to work (although a few events- like Pregnancy- would need to be removed/redrawn).
Back then, they talked about doing an expansion that would have LGBTQ specific cards added, so that’s not a surprise.
I am surprised that they’re creating alternate box covers. I think that means that the game is being successful enough that they can do that.
Love is freedom. I met my dream woman only when i was 30 years old. We met on the web with https://bestdatingsitesforover40.org/ help and only then i understood what to be loved and to love somebody means.
