Lord of the Rings LCG… in Five Parts!
March 29, 2011 by lloyd
Fantasy Flight Games are well known for their card games. However, even for them this card game seems epic. It needs 5 videos to introduce it... that's epic in my book!
The most interesting parts of this game seem to be the fact that it's not only a cooperative game, but it can be played solo, which lets try out your constructed deck before playing with friends.
I'll admit I've never been much of a cardboard fan. It always seemed just that little bit too competitive even for me!
However, I'm always interested in something that's cooperative, add a few beers and we might just have a nice way to while away an evening with a few friends.
What do you guys think?
If this is anything like the Call of Cthulhu LCG... it'll more than likely be a winner!

Looks great, but when will companies learn that they can make more money….improve the hobby…and probably attract lots more players by inventing their own generic fantasy settings. 10 years post-steve jackson….LOTR is getting old….it’s time for something fresh
FFG has already made their own world, Terrinoth, was originally made for Discwars. They use it in Runebound, Runewars, Descent, Dungeon Quest and its going to be the setting for their next card game, its a deck building game, called Rune Age.
burn the heretic 🙂
Seriously now
Fantastic art and could be a great game…nice movie promo for the lcg
Also timed well to cash in on The Hobbit
ps
read Hobbit in 1979, lotr in 1980…and its still not old
looks pretty awesome
This game much all of the FFG LCG’s is going to be great. I own all but the Call of Cthulhu.
Excellent tutorial video.
Looks great…really great!!…I gonna buy it
Beasts of war hooks a brother up once again- LOL
Nice tutorial vid. also dig the game system as a whole co-op against the deck is genius…
This game will go over large I suspect 🙂
I gotta quit watching this channel, before I break the bank- Seriously though, I dig seeing companies bust out of the mold with unique game systems.
Update,
went to web site not a bad price either this game would be perfect for breaking my kids into gaming let us know when released think its a great concept that drops competitive edge off at the pool 🙂
lovin the sound of this, bonus of being able to solo! count me in!
Looks seriously cool, lovely artwork and I like co-op play.
Damn, first time I’ve wanted a card game in many many years 😉
Looks great. I for one would buy this as a big tolkien fan. I may lack gaming partners but seeing as it has solo mode it is perfect.
