Larry Harris Of Axis & Allies Fame Brings War Room To The Tabletop
June 28, 2017 by brennon
Larry Harris, designer of the most excellent (Bill & Ted moment there...) Axis & Allies is turning his attention to another massive board game project with War Room alongside Nightingale Games.
The game is set to be a deluxe two-six player World War II experience where you will command the forces vying for control in this global conflict. It will reward hidden movement choices, clever tactical play and knowledge of your opponents strategies. It looks rather mad but in the same breath, pretty epic!
Axis & Allies
Yes, the game is also played on that awesome round map and features those stackable unit tokens you see there. It has been in development for four years now and will be coming to Kickstarter this year.
Will you be keeping an eye on this one?

I haven’t got a table big enough for this one
I think @deaddave does a line in round gaming tables 😉
I will keep one eye open for this, it looks good to me.
I do love an epic, operational level game. But I’m also a bit clumsy and can see a lot of counters getting scattered around…
Flat Earth – confirmed!
That looks pretty impressive, but much too large for practicality.
It’s only 42″. Its not going to be nearly as cool looking if its smaller.
Which is still pretty big. It’s certainly a good 10″, if not more, than the width of most tables I’ve been playing boardgames on. You’ll need a full 4′ x 6′ table for it, and how many of us have that?
I do agree that it wouldn’t look nearly as nice if it was smaller. But… Well… There’re practical considerations here…
Definitely will be giving this one a look!
Hmm… I’ll certainly give this a look… It looks amazing.
I think Axis & Allies is a pretty flawed game however. Although I do still, for some reason, enjoy it. This looks very interesting!
Depends which version you play, if you are talking about the classic version oob then yes, but there have been a never of mods for it.
Look great, but not travel friendly – something to set up and play over a weekend with the lads
