March 6, 2020 by brennon
Voodoo Games are currently on Kickstarter right now looking to fund their game, Knight Tales. This game mixes up genres and has one-to-four players tackling the game either cooperatively or semi-cooperatively in order to defeat a horde of evil creatures.

During a game of Knight Tales, you will play as valiant warriors who are looking to defend a remote village for three days and three nights as they constantly press against your defences. If you're a fan of classic wave-defence style games then this might appeal to you. As well as coming into the mix with all manner of nice-looking artwork it also features some miniatures to represent your Knights.
A lot of the core mechanics in the game should be well known to you. You'll be building your characters and outfitting them as you see fit, delving into a bit of set-collection and also playing around with tower defence mechanics which come with a puzzle-like twist. You will also be able to take on daily quests which help you gain renown and make each attempt at it a unique experience.
Arrayed against you you've got a bunch of deadly monsters and creatures which will test your defences and your tactical know-how. Also, at the heart of each defensive push, you've also got an enemy boss who has a mass of tactics cards that they throw into the mix.
Gameplay Videos
If you're interested in learning more about the game and how it plays you can follow this series of videos down below...
Make sure to give them a watch and if you're interested in learning in different languages, there are some alternative options over on their Kickstarter Page.
Game Contents & Pledge Levels
So, as well as diving into the world through some gameplay videos, you can also take a peek at what gets added into the mix as part of the Kickstarter for backers. Here we have one of the reward options at the Squire level which comes with all manner of funky bits and pieces.
...and if you'd like to check out the Stretch Goals, make sure to dive on over to their Kickstarter Page and see more. I really like the fact that you get so many different bosses and enemy types to engage with and then beyond that you've also got that 3D terrain which really makes the game seem like a bit of a spectacle.
As with all Kickstarters, things get more and more interesting as things go on. The core game is looking like a lot of fun but there are also plenty more things coming your way. I like the flexible player count, the mix of mechanics they've got here and the art style too. I think I'd be really happy to dive in and play this, maybe at a convention or with a group of friends.
Make sure to take a peek at the Kickstarter as a whole and let us know what you make of this campaign!

Reminds me of Castle Panic.
Looks interesting.
This looks like a card game but it has four miniatures and a battlefield set up. I’m not really getting the point of having the minis there.
