Kirk & Spock Coming To GF9’s Star Trek: Away Missions!

Gale Force Nine has announced that a new set of characters will be coming to Star Trek: Away Missions in March! Captain Kirk and Scotty are going to be landing in two expansion sets that focus on the Original Series characters!
Captain Kirk Federation Expansion // Star Trek: Away Missions
This is the first of the expansions not based on the Next Generation for the game and it is off to a good start with these particular characters. The Original Series characters are beloved and so having them popping up in the game is going to make a lot of Star Trek fans very happy.
Captain Kirk Away Team - Miniatures // Star Trek: Away Missions
Kirk's Away Team comes with Captain Kirk himself alongside the likes of Spock, Bones and Chekov. By comparison, Scotty steps into the fighting alongside the likes of Uhura and Sulu as well as Leslie. Poor Leslie.

The miniatures are looking great and they come with some fun new rules for use in the game as well. For example, they get to play with the new "beam away" rule which adds a new ability to the game and should change up your strategies.
Scotty Away Team - Miniatures // Star Trek: Away Missions
This makes the available Away Teams for the game number eight so you'll have lots of interesting ways to approach gameplay and outwit your foes. With The Original Series joining the collection, it would be great to see where else Gale Force Nine go with the game and what else they add to the mix.
Will you be picking up these new Away Teams?

These are looking to be great expansions. I really love that you can mix and match cards from other federation characters with this as well. I do hope that GF9 will release more maps/worlds/ships etc. to provide variety in settings. As a big fan of the original series, it would be cool to have a ship designed in the original style.
Kaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahn!
Unfortunately another case of giant head on miniatures syndrome. This happens a lot these days, only a few notable and other companies seem to be able to get human bodies in something resembling proportion.
It has been done on purpose to give them a more cartoony look
You missed my larger point.
i felt the same, until i was gifted a set for Christmas, the colours that they are printed? in take away so much from the sculpts. once you painted them they look 100% better
Giant heads
Yep, and the stylised look is fabulous for them. They paint up so well and it looks really good when they’re all on the tabletop for the game.
These two sets are the ones I want. Old school all the way.
