Kingdom Builder Builds a Kingdom on Kickstarter

A kingdom has been rising on Kickstarter as a Big Box version of the award winning board game Kingdom Builder has been looking for funding.

Kingdom Builder won the 2012 Spiel des Jahres award and has received a ton of praise, focusing around players building their own kingdoms across randomised maps, gaining special ability tiles as they place their settlements, all seeking to fulfill the winning conditions on the special Kingdom Builder cards drawn for that particular game.

This new Big Box Kickstarter Edition will bring together the core Kingdom Builder game with its various expansions, providing you with everything you need to play some evolving and intriguing games.

The Kickstarter version will also include special wooden Settlement Markers, which will then be sold separately at some point in the future.

While I haven't had a chance to play Kingdom Builder as yet, I do have to admit that its colourful style and game play have me intrigued. It doesn't hurt that the Kickstarter campaign has managed to achieve over $100,000 of its original funding goal either.
