New Adventure Kindred Fire Coming To FFG’s Descent: Road To Legend
May 30, 2016 by brennon
Fantasy Flight Games have shared details about the new adventure coming to Road To Legend which upgrades and tweaks the world of Descent: Journeys In The Dark to make it (in my opinion at least) a whole lot more fun and fully cooperative. Learn more about Kindred Fire below...
"Kindred Fire offers a truly massive, branching array of options as over twenty new quests enter the game. First, you’ll gain access to eight entirely new story quests—six of which you’ll encounter in any given play-through. You’ll also find two new side quests that are exclusive to Kindred Fire itself.
Those quests aren’t the only new adventures that you’ll be able to enjoy with the release of Kindred Fire, however. Eight additional side quests—including the two side quests from the Rise of All Goblins mini-campaign—have been added and can now appear in any Road to Legend campaign, in Kindred Fire and beyond.
Finally, you’ll also find six new bonus quests: one for each of the six currently released Descent expansions, from Lair of the Wyrm through Mists of Bilehall."
We've had a lot of fun with this and playing through the Rise Of All Goblins Quest so it's nice to see them expanding things with this new story.
In a neat addition the quests and expansions you buy will also give you more side quests to go and pursue as you play through the various longer stories. It will be interesting to see how much this can draw from the core game (which is all we have).
Having faced Merick Farrow in the original game we might be following a similar story from the boxed game but with a few twists.
Will you be giving this a go?

I tried out Road to Legend based on your recommendation and I was not disappointed. I can now play the game cooperatively with my son, and we have a blast. I think we’ll definitely be getting the new chapter.
Fantastic news 🙂 Glad it worked out well!
I am a long descent fan and I love dungeon crawling games. On of the best campaign board games of this type was Sea Of Blood in my oppinion but I can say that I get tired as an overlord (always I have to him and run all the game elements). I tried the mini solo-cooperative expansions of descent and I realy like them but was small and not have campaign.
I think this new Road to Legend is perfect, it keeps all the board game elements inside and it tracks all the boring stuff, well done fantasy flight, well done.
