Kill Supes Or Take On Zombicide’s Undead With CMON’s The Boys Sets
July 13, 2022 by brennon
CMON has dropped a pretty fascinating new pre-order on their webstore this week for Zombicide. The Boys and The Seven from the hit Prime show can now be snapped up to use in your games of undead mayhem and destruction. Seems pretty apt that they'd been in a game filled with blood and gore.
The Boys Boxed Sets // Zombicide
There are two main boxed sets and then a separate set which allows you to turn The Seven into Abominations in Zombicide. This pre-order bonus also comes with a new Abomination version of Homelander (isn't that just him all the time?) to use in your games.
The first of the sets is for The Seven themselves. Obviously, there is no Translucent (spoilers...) but you do get all of the Supes from the latest season of the show.
The Seven Miniatures // Zombicide
That means you get (from left to right) Soldier Boy, Black Noir, Starlight, Homelander, A-Train, Queen Maeve and The Deep. All of them are looking pretty cool it has to be said. Whilst all of them (apart from Starlight) are mostly awful people, they would be fun to use in your games of Zombicide.
Going up against The Seven or just against a zombie invasion, we have The Boys.
The Boys Miniatures // Zombicide
This set comes with (from left to right) Billy Butcher, Terror, Mother's Milk, Hughie, Annie (Starlight), Frenchie and Kimiko. This set also comes with the very funny Laser Baby equipment card that folks will remember from one of the earlier seasons of The Boys.
As mentioned above, there is also a pre-order bonus pack that comes with Abomination rules for The Seven and that bonus Homelander miniature.
Supe Abominations // Zombicide
Good luck if you can take on The Seven and survive! I imagine Homelander's rules are going to be absolutely terrifying, just like him. A very neat idea for spicing up your Zombicide games. Maybe some Compound V has been tainted and that's what turns everyone else into zombies?
Whilst this set of miniatures is great for Zombicide, I could see a lot of people just picking these up to have some The Boys miniatures to paint. There are some painted examples of the characters over on the pre-order page and it seemed apt to pick both Homelander...

...and Billy Butcher to show off.

Whatever you might think about Zombicide and their many, many versions of the game, I think this is a really neat idea. The sculpting team who brought these miniatures to life have done a really good job on the characters this could be something a bit quirky to throw into your games.
Are you tempted by this new set of The Boys miniatures?

Seen season one an love the show an the figures look fantastic. A-train an Homelander(mummy issues) are professional Aholes an Billy(Karl Urban) a nutty comical character. Starlight can save me anytime Lol.
Those look really nice.
Shame there isn’t a comics version, but then I suppose they wouldn’t be as recognisable. Do like the show, but they’ve completely done away with the over-arching story from the comics as to why Homelander is losing his mind.
poor Black Noir 😉
?
Is there an octopus somewhere in the water of The Deep? And what’s with the dog?
its reference to comics, butcher have this dog in comics.
Butcher’s dog was in the show.
should replace Starlight with Soldier Boy in the Boys box, add Stormfront to the Seven so at least they’re the Seven and then make alternative costume Starlight as the pre-order model. But then I wouldn’t expect a website that rates people’s paint jobs to have a clue.
shame they look like tv series not comics …
I liked these enough to put them in the online shopping basket… But not enough to complete the transaction when the vat and delivery to the UK took the total to 106 dollars… £90 quid seems a little steep!
I agree, saw the price then went holy f*ck, delete
Yes that is quite a bit of money, I did buy the Ghostbusters set and was suprised about the extra cost, but as a huge Ghostbusters fan I had to get them 😉
Interestingly enough, the cost for the Boys box to be send to germany is 88,67$. I wonder why shipping to the UK is so much more expensive.
The real question is will these be cross-compatible with the Marvel Zombies version when it releases?
would presume so, the game all plays the same
